4th of July Activities

June 30: Liberty Fest/Lewistown Independence Day Fireworks Display

Then the event continues Saturday morning at 11AM with a full day of live music, food, vendors, kids activities, a bounce house, classic car cruise in, and more! The entertainment schedule is as follows:

11-11:45am—- Ken Gray (acoustic country)

12-2pm—- LowJack (classic rock)

2:30-4:30pm—- Felix And The Hurricanes (Blues/Rock/Southern/Countryish)

5-7pm—- Johnny Unit (well-known local band crossing different genres)

The Juniata River Valley Idol finals starts at 8PM, followed by the Lewistown 4th of July fireworks display. Once again, this year’s fireworks will be launched on the bank of the Juniata River in the MCIDC Plaza, across from Victory Park.

Stop in and help keep local events alive in our community! Don’t forget your lawn chair!

June 30: 5th Annual Freedom Festival
The 5th Annual Freedom Festival will be held on Saturday, June 30 from 1 to 4PM at the Siglerville Congregational Church in Milroy. There will be a special appearance by a George Washington Impersonator, a colonial circus, live music by Kenzie McCarter, Revolutionary War reeanctors and more! There will also be free gifts for every child that attend. Bring your lawn chairs!

July 1: Lake Raystown Independence Day Display
Lake Raystown Resort will set off their spectacular annual firework show in celebration of Independence Day on Sunday, July 1st at dusk. So come on out and celebrate the special day out on the water!

July 2: Opening of Carnival Week
at 10 p.m. at Morrisons Cove Memorial Park, Martinsburg

July 3: Huntingdon Fireworks
Let freedom ring! The Huntingdon Independence Day Fireworks Display is set to take place on July 3. Launch time is 9:45PM

July 3: Milroy Fireworks
The Milroy Fireworks are back! Watch the night sky light up on July 3rd. Launch time will be sometime between 9 and 9:30PM.

July 4: Altoona Curve after game at Peoples Natural Gas Field

July 4: Lakemont Park at 10 p.m. in Lakemont area. Park grounds closed.

July 4: Summer Thunder at 10:30 p.m. at DelGrosso’s Park

The Area’s Premier 4th of July Free Fireworks Show!! Summer Thunder® 2018 – Theme: TBA Park Grounds Open at 8am Rides/Water Park/Food Open at 11am. Pre-show at approx 10pm Fireworks Show approx 10:30pm

July 4: Bedford Fireworks
Join us in downtown Bedford for an Independence Day Celebration on July 4 at the Fort Bedford River Front Park for food, music, hotdog eating contest, Cornhole Tournament, and Fireworks! Musical Entertainment by Eclipse (A Journey Tribute) starting at 7pm until the fireworks begin. Sponsorship opportunities available that include VIP seating for fireworks. Sponsors to date are: Somerset Trust and Burgmemier’s Hauling.

July 4: Mifflinburg Independence Day Celebration
Mifflinburg’s Independence Day Celebration is held each year in the Community Park. Highlights include the annual 5K Run & Kids Fun Run, pet parade, chicken barbecue, games, entertainment and more! Let’s not forget the fantastic fireworks display! It’s slated for a kickstart at 10:15PM!

July 4: State College Central PA 4th Fest
Celebrate Independence Day in State College at Central PA 4th Fest. Over 550 volunteers and 220 sponsors come together to hold this daylong, family oriented, patriotic birthday party held July 4th on the east campus of Penn State University.

Enjoy live music, entertainment and activities, fair food, and more. The day kicks off with the Firecracker 4K & 4Mile races, the Parade of Heroes, the Celebration – a fun-filled patriotic birthday party – and of course, the 4thFest fireworks show!

July 4: Taste of Independence in Harrisburg

On Wednesday, July 4, 2018, the City of Harrisburg will host the Taste of Independence Food Truck Festival & Fireworks show along Riverfront Park from 3 pm – 10 pm. This one-day event features live music, delicious food, activities for children and the largest fireworks show in Central PA! Fireworks will begin at approximately 9:15pm.

Nearly 40 food trucks will be available with items such as artisanal pizza, bbq, crab cake sandwich, jumbo lobster roll, stuffed pretzels, wraps, burrito’s and gourmet reuben’s. Festival favorites such as kettle corn, cotton candy, fried oreos and funnel cakes will also be available along with Farm Show milkshakes!

Following the fireworks, join the Midtown Cinema for an outdoor movie featuring Moana – and meet Moana herself! The outdoor movie will begin at approximately 9:30pm at the Market Street stage.

July 19: Bicentennial Fireworks Display at Richfield Dutch Days

This year’s Richfield Dutch Days will be held July 17-21 in Basom Park. It’s a very special event this year, not only the 50th anniversary of the event but also Richfield’s Bicentennial! We’re celebrating 200 years of Richfield and 50 years of the historic Dutch Days.

There are so many activities planned they even added an extra day to the festival! Not only is there the usual rides, games, activities, great food and more, but there will also be activities that take us a journey that spans 200 years of the town’s vast history as well as the true beginning of what became ‘Richfield Dutch Days.’ Those special events will include:

-Town Decorating Contest

-Beard & Mustache Competition

-Fashion Show

-Bicentennial Bus Tours

There’s also a cake walk game planned for Tuesday Night Only! A Chinese Auction will be held on various evenings. Come on out Thursday evening to see Bicentennial Fireworks! They begin at 10PM.
