A JURY CONVICTED 33-YEAR OLD ERIC FREIN WEDNESDAY OF CAPITAL MURDER, FINDING HIM GUILTY OF ALL CHARGES BROUGHT AGAINST HIM. FREIN KILLED A STATE POLICE TROOPER AND SERIOUSLY WOUNDED ANOTHER IN AN AMBUSH ATTACK OUTSIDE THE BLOOMING GROVE BARRACKS BACK IN 2014. HE THEN BECAME THE FOCUS OF A 48-DAY MANHUNT. THE TRIAL MOVES INTO THE PENALTY PHASE TODAY WHERE PROSECUTORS WILL BE SEEKING THE DEATH PENALTY.

COURT DOCUMENTS SEEKING TO DISMISS CHARGES AGAINST THREE FRANCISCAN FRIARS WERE FILED IN BLAIR COUNTY COURT THIS WEEK BY THEIR ATTORNEYS. THE THREE ARE CHARGED WITH ALLOWING A CHILD SEXUAL PREDATOR, BROTHER STEPHEN BAKER, TO BE IN A POSITION TO MOLEST CHILDREN. A COURT HEARING IS SET FOR APRIL 27TH IN HOLLIDAYSURG.
