A motorcycle-vehicle crash sent a Mapleton Depot man to the hospital earlier this week in Huntingdon County.  The mishap occurred Monday afternoon on William Penn Highway in Henderson Township.  A Kawasaki ZX6R operated by 21-year-old Michael Ellis rear-ended a GM Sierra driven by Norbert Starr of Three Springs while Starr’s vehicle was stopped for traffic.  Ellis was ejected from the cycle.  He was transported to UPMC Altoona.

Philadelphia Eagles TE Zach Ertz has launched the ‘Catches for the Community’ fundraising campaign on Pledge It. With every catch in the 2018 regular season, Ertz and his fans will raise funds for the Ertz Family Foundation “City of Love Fund,” a grant-making program that will support local Philadelphia and surrounding area charities that align with the foundation’s three pillars of service: youth sports, education and family.  Ertz and his wife Julie kicked off the campaign by donating $100 per catch. The ‘Catches for the Community’ campaign began last night when the Eagles opened the NFL regular season against the Atlanta Falcons.
