Another scam has been reported to local authorities, this time involving a fake Ticketmaster phone number.  An Orbisonia woman attempted to call Ticketmaster on May 28th, but the call was re-routed to a fake number.  The victim purchased two gift cards totaling $640.  State Police remind consumers if you are told to purchase gift cards for payment, you are being scammed.

State Senator Judy Ward (R-30) has urged the Pennsylvania Game Commission (PGC) to place a higher priority on studying Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) in deer.  In a letter to the Game Commission’s Executive Director, Ward noted that a recent audit revealed Game Commission reserves totaling more than $73 million. Ward urged use of some of that money to conduct an aerial study of the local deer population, as well as a comprehensive study of CWD to determine the causes, spread and treatment of the disease.  A large number of cases have been identified in Ward’s Senate District, especially along the Blair County-Bedford County line and in Fulton County.

A Juniata County man reported a firearm stolen from his vehicle late last month.  Between May 25th and 28th, a Glock 19X pistol, tan holster, and two magazines were taken from a truck belonging to Aaron Aldinger of Mifflin.  Aldinger told State Police, the theft could have occurred in McConnellsburg in Fulton County.  Total value of stolen items is $850.
